About

Mexican visual artist, born in Morelia, self-taught in the arts. Since his first exhibition at the Centro Cultural de la UNAM in 2015, Mikel has presented his work in prestigious venues across Michoacán, including the Antiguo Colegio Jesuita in Pátzcuaro in 2020. Additionally, he has participated in group exhibitions in Monterrey, Querétaro, and the State of Mexico, in important spaces such as the Museo Metropolitano de Monterrey, Casona Mier, the Pepsi Center, and the Senate of the Republic in Mexico.

At an international level, Mikel has brought his work to Spain, Italy, and the United States, exhibiting in renowned galleries and cultural centers in Los Angeles and San Diego, such as Art Through the Glass, Untitled Art Gallery, Self Help Graphics & Art, Plaza de la Raza, and the Chaffey Community Museum of Art, as well as venues like Towers Arts Center.

Among his most notable projects are the creation of a monumental mural at Universidad Latina de América in 2024, his participation in the ABC ART BAJA festival, and collaborations with BADA México, Mezcal Santo Gusano, and Mexicráneos.


Recognized for his ability to explore the intimacy of intrapersonal thought within society, Mikel uses the human body as his primary means of expression. His work invites viewers to challenge their perception of their surroundings and to immerse themselves in the intimate sphere of the human psyche.


With a strong presence in the international art scene, Mikel has participated in a wide range of projects, including auctions, interviews, and collaborations in magazines, covers, television programs, and competitions. He has received numerous recognitions, including the Michoacán Youth Award in the Artistic and Cultural Expression category in 2024.

Through his work, Mikel openly shares his feelings, thoughts, critiques, and concerns about the world around him. His art, characterized by expressive colors and vibrant tones, offers a window into his constant reflection and critique of contemporary reality.
